Réalisée en tubes de fer peints de 12 centimètres de diamètre, Njé Mo Yé, qui signifie «C’est quoi, ça?» en langue douala, est une sculpture qui représente et magnifie le couple. L’artiste, qui a habité de 1966 à 1984 à côté du Carrefour Dernier poteau à Nkololoun, rappelle que ce lieu marquait la frontière de la ville d’alors. Il a souhaité témoigner de sa gratitude d’enfant du quartier en offrant la sculpture à ses habitants.

Made of painted iron tubes of 12 centimeters in diameter, Njé Mo Yé, which means “what’s that?” in the Douala language, is a sculpture that represents and glorifies the couple.
The artist, who lived in the neighborhood of Dernier poteau in Nkololoun from 1966 to 1984 recalls how, back in those days, this place marked the borders of the city. He wished to express his childhood gratitude by offering the sculpture to the locals.
