Face à l’eau est une installation de cinq panneaux verticaux, en bois, métal et tôles plastiques colorées, sur les berges du fleuve Wouri à Bonamouti. Les plus importants font 3,70 mètres de hauteur. Ces cinq volets individuels sont disposés sur la berge de façon à ce qu’à une certaine distance ils créent l’illusion d’un paravent unique. L’installation est conçue dans l’optique de protéger des regards des promeneurs la nudité des piroguiers-pêcheurs qui se lavent à la fin de leur journée de travail. Ce projet fait partie des Liquid projects, un programme de SUD2010 qui a mené à la production d’oeuvres d’art permanentes (dédiées au thème de l’eau) dans les quartiers de résidence de quatre artistes locaux.

Face à l’eau consists of five vertical panels made of wood, metal, and colored plastic sheets on the banks of the river Wouri, in Bonamouti. The five single shutters, the highest of which measures 3,70 meters, are installed in such a way that at a certain distance they give the impression of being a single screen.
The installation is meant to protect the boatmen and fishermen from the view of the passers-by when they wash at the end of their working day. This installation is part of Liquid projets, a SUD2010 initiative, which led to the creation of permanent artworks (dedicated to the theme of water) in the local neighborhoods of the four artists involved in the initiative.
