International Collaborative Urban (ICU) art projects est une organisation basée à Rotterdam (Pays-Bas), qui promeut des projets artistiques, avec pour finalité les échanges de savoir-faire au niveau international et l’évolution du domaine public et de l’espace urbain.

Elle a été fondée en 2010 par Kamiel Verschueren et Xandra Nibbeling, dans le but de faciliter leur coopération avec doual’art à Douala (Cameroun), de réaliser des projets artistiques liés à l’espace urbain, et également de poursuivre une partie du travail de la fondation iStrike.

Le travail d’ICU art projects va de la réalisation de projets artistiques internationaux (production, financement, gestion) à la prise en charge de publications sur l’art et l’urbanisme (production, financement, édition).

Outre une coopération continue avec doual’art, les projets incluent la production de la publication Steen in Water (« Pierre dans l’eau ») à propos de l’un des plus grands projets de land art aux Pays-Bas. En 2012, ICU art projects a produit, en collaboration avec Lucas Grandin, quatre éditions de l’exposition Making Douala 2007-2013 à Rotterdam, Gand, Nantes et Dakar. Dans le cadre de cette exposition, un ouvrage sur les projets du SUD (Salon Urbain de Douala) de 2007 et 2010 a été publié. ICU art projects a aussi été impliquée, ainsi que la RAW Fondation et doual’art, dans le développement du projet du PUB, Pavillon Urbain de Bonanjo, à Douala.

Xandra Nibbeling vit travaille à Rotterdam comme conseillère indépendante en communication et éditrice, dans les domaines de l’art et de la culture. Kamiel Verschuren travaille comme artiste plasticien, à Rotterdam également.

International Collaborative Urban (ICU) art projects is a Rotterdam based artistic project organization aimed at international knowledge exchange and the development of the public domain and urban space.

ICU art projects was founded in 2010 by Kamiel Verschuren and Xandra Nibbeling, aiming to facilitate their cooperation with doual’art in Douala, Cameroon and to realize artistic projects related to urbanity, and aiming to continue parts of the work done by foundation iStrike.

ICU art projects’ work ranges from the realization of international art projects (production, financing, managing) to the realization of publications related to art and urbanity (production, financing, editing).

Besides their ongoing cooperation with doual’art, projects include the production of the publication Steen in Water (Stone in Water) on one of the biggest land art projects in the Netherlands. In 2012 ICU art projects produced, in cooperation with Luca Grandin four editions of the exhibition Making Douala 2007-2013, in Rotterdam, Ghent, Nantes and Dakar. Going with the exhibition, a publication was made covering the projects of the SUD2007 and 2010. ICU art projects was also, together with the raw foundation and doual’art, involved in developing the PUB, Pavilion Urbain de Bonanjo in Douala.

Xandra Nibbeling lives and works in Rotterdam as a free lance communications adviser and editor, both in art and culture. Kamiel Verschuren lives and works in Rotterdam as a visual artist.
